The drama is set in a closely connected community in Oakdale, Illinois, and revolves around the complex lives of the Hughes, Montgomery, Ryan, Snyder, Stewart, and Walsh families. In April 2007, "The Great Turn of the World" will celebrate its 51st anniversary.
