At the peak of Oscar Wilde's fame, he had a (correctly) considered romantic relationship with Lord Alfred Douglas ("Posey"), the son of Queensbury, which angered the Marquis of Queensbury, who was 20 years younger than Wilde. When Quinsbury slandered Oscar Wilde, the artist decided to take the matter to court and led to his downfall.
